COVID-19 ADVISORY

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt global logistics and supply chains.

The things to know this week are that capacity is tight, equipment is tight and consistency is poor.

Actually, inconsistency is what is consistent.

Ocean carriers continue to blank sailings and idle vessels due to decreasing demand from importers in Europe and North America.  From mid-May thru June we can see reduced import volumes to the US.

Less inbound ships and containers result in fewer outbound sailings.

Air space is very tight and suffering from congestion and delays at origin points.

Reduced and/or no passenger flights have made Africa very difficult to reach by plane.

Many borders are closed (we can tell you where but the list is too long and changes frequently to publish) but do allow for food and essential items to pass.

Our advice continues to be to plan ahead, book early and allow for delay.

The best advice we have heard and share is to adapt quickly and act quickly.

The options available today will be probably not be available in two days.

Don't think of the past as the same as today, and tomorrow will certainly not be like the past.

Cargo is moving, resources are available, but you will need to find alternatives.

If we can help you move your cargo, or if we can answer your questions, just email or call.

We are still overcoming logistics challenges.
